West Ham United in pursuit of teenage superstar

West Ham United are planning an ambitious swoop for Barcelona teenage sensation Alen Halilovic, according to reports from the Metro.

New West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has certainly brought about a lot of flair into the Boleyn Ground this summer by securing the services of talented players such as Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini.

It is clear from Bilic’s purchases of Payet and Lanzini that he is looking to implement an attractive brand of football at West Ham and to add more flair into his side, it has now been revealed that the Croatian manager is eyeing an ambitious move for Barcelona youngster Alen Halilovic.

Halilovic emerged as one of the most talented youngsters around in European football with his performances for Dinamo Zagreb a few seasons ago and following his rise to prominence, Spanish giants Barcelona swooped in to secure the services of the youngster back in 2014 for a fee of around £2million.

While Halilovic is regarded highly by the Barcelona hierarchy, it is unlikely that the midfielder will earn a place in the first team anytime soon due to the plethora of stars present at the club.

As a result, Halilovic has been touted to leave Barcelona on a loan deal this summer. Bilic is more than aware of Halilovic’s talents and in an ambitious move, the West Ham manager is looking to bring in the youngster to the Boleyn Ground on a permanent basis as he looks to place a bid of around £4.3million, with a buy back clause included in the deal.
