The Strongest Possible Lineup for Liverpool against Southampton –
Formation – 4-3-2-1
Simon Mignolet was the star man for Liverpool during their 0-0 draw against Tottenham Hotspur and the Belgian international will once again have to perform well in order to keep the likes of Graziano Pelle and Sadio Mane at bay on Sunday.
The Liverpool backline did very well to negate the Tottenham attack last week and Klopp will certainly see no reason why he should change things around this weekend.
As a result, Nathaniel Clyne, Mamadou Sakho, Martin Skrtel and Alberto Moreno will be starting at the back while it remains to be seen whether Dejan Lovren will be fit in time to make the bench.
James Milner, Lucas and Emre Can look crucial to Klopp’s game plan of high pressing and the trio are almost certain to be starting at the middle of the part for Liverpool.
In the attacking positions, Liverpool have been handed a boost with the return of Roberto Firmino to full training but it seems like the Brazilian will not be risked from the start, with the duo of Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho continuing in the lineup.
Divock Origi started the clash against Tottenham and while the youngster did perform well, it looks very likely that he will be making way for the fit again Christian Benteke.
Probable Lineup (4-3-2-1): Mignolet; Moreno, Sakho, Skrtel, Clyne; Can, Lucas, Milner, Coutinho, Lallana; Benteke
