Tottenham Hotspur had pursued West Brom striker Saido Berahino aggressively throughout the summer and even though their bids had been pushed back plenty of times, it seems that an improved bid of £20 million would finally see them bring their prime target to White Hart Lane this summer, according to The Mirror.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis, who had earlier rejected the £15 million bid from Tottenham was not amused as he had to leave out his star striker in the game against defending champions Chelsea during the weekend and in fact accused the North Londoners of destabilising the unity at the Hawthorns following Harry Kane’s statements on how he would like Berahino to join forces with him.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino rates Berahino very highly and has been dogged in his pursuit all summer. It seems that he would finally get his man by the time the transfer window comes to a close.
