Match Preview: Liverpool vs Southampton

Updated: October 23, 2015

Liverpool welcome Southampton to Anfield in Jurgen Klopp’s first Premier League home game on Sunday and the German boss will surely be keen on guiding his side to victory on the day.

Amid all the hype surrounding the arrival of Jurgen Klopp as manager, Liverpool have produced two underwhelming performances under the German boss so far.

Nonetheless, it is still early days for Klopp and he will now surely be keen on guiding his side to their first victory when a tough Southampton side pay a visit to Anfield this weekend.

Injury Doubts: Dejan Lovren, Daniel Sturridge, Jon Flanagan, Jordan Henderson, Danny Ings, Jordan Rossiter

Probable Lineup (4-3-2-1): Mignolet; Moreno, Sakho, Skrtel, Clyne; Can, Lucas, Milner, Coutinho, Lallana; Origi

Following a difficult start to the season, Southampton have made a fine recovery in recent times and are currently on a strong four match unbeaten streak.

Things seem to be finally falling into place for Southampton at the moment and they will surely be keen on continuing their good run of form against Liverpool on Sunday.

Injury Doubts: Maarten Stekelenburg, Fraser Forster, Florin Gardos, Shane Long

Probable Lineup (4-5-1): Stekelenburg; Bertrand, van Dijk, Fonte, Cedric Soares; Wanyama, Clasie, Tadic, Davis, Mane; Pelle

Liverpool have claimed three consecutive victories over Southampton in the Premier League and they should head into Sunday’s clash as favourites once again.

However, Southampton are currently on a good run of form and given Liverpool’s struggles at the moment, a score draw could well be on the cards.

Liverpool 1 – 1 Southampton
