Leeds United vs Fulham: Preview, Predicted Lineups and Prediction
Venue: Elland Road
Kick-off: 07:45 PM GMT / 2:45 PM EST
Leeds United News
Despite putting in a spirited display, Leeds United were eliminated from the FA Cup following a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Premier League side Watford through a comical own goal by defender Scott Wootton.
Manager Steve Evans would have been pleased with his side’s effort against Watford though and he will now be hopeful that Leeds can translate the good performance into the Championship as well.
Up next for Leeds is a clash against fellow strugglers Fulham and while a victory should quash any fears of the drop, a defeat will mean that the Whites will be dragged into the relegation mire.
Leeds United Probable Lineup: M. Silvestri, G. Bellusci, S. Bamba, S. Wootton, C. Taylor, T. Diagouraga, L. Bridcutt, S. Dallas, L. Cook, M. Antenucci, S. Doukara
Fulham have been wildly inconsistent over the past few weeks but they managed a huge 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic last weekend and the three points has certainly given the Cottagers some breathing space above the relegation places.
However manager Slavisa Jokanovic will not allow his players to relax just yet as the job is far from being done and Fulham now need to get a bit of momentum going by claiming another three points when they travel to Elland Road to square off against Leeds United in midweek.
Fulham Probable Lineup: A. Lonergan, F. Amorebieta, L. Garbutt, D. Burn, Parker, J. O’Hara, T. Cairney, M. Madl, R. Fredericks, R. McCormack, M. Dembélé
Fulham and Leeds United share a near identical head to head record over the years and the match on Tuesday night should be another closely fought encounter.
Both teams are unpredictable but Leeds have not won in five matches and given Fulham’s attacking prowess, the Cottagers may well be able to claim an away victory on the night.
