Celtic reportedly keen on signing England international
Scottish Premier League Champions Celtic are eyeing up a move for Steven Caulker, according to reports from the Daily Record (transfer feed 12:15 pm).
There is a sense of anticipation surrounding Celtic upon the arrival of Brendan Rodgers as manager and the Northern Irishman is widely expected to guide the Hoops into the Champions League, following disappointments over the last two seasons.
In order to do so though, Rodgers will most certainly have to strengthen his squad this summer and the former Liverpool boss has already gone on to complete a major transfer by securing the services of Moussa Dembele from Fulham recently.
Now Rodgers is believed to be looking to improve his backline and revelations from the Daily Record can be made that the 43-year-old is currently planning a swoop for Queens Park Rangers defender Steven Caulker.
Caulker struggled while on loan at Southampton and Liverpool last season, and it is widely believed that the defender will look to leave Queens Park Rangers permanently this summer.
Rodgers is well aware of Caulker’s abilities, having worked closely with him at Swansea City back in 2011 and the duo could now be set to reunite at Parkhead.
