Barnet vs Portsmouth: Preview, Predicted Lineups and Prediction
Venue: The Hive Stadium
Kick-off: 07:45 PM GMT / 2:45 PM EST
Barnet’s five match unbeaten run came to a halt following a disappointing 2-1 home defeat at the hands of AFC Wimbledon last weekend and the result means that relegation remains a concern for the Bees at the moment.
Manager Martin Allen will know that his side are in an anything but comfortable position in the table at the moment and in order to avoid being dragged back into the relegation mire, Barnet will need to claim a good result when they play hosts to promotion hopefuls Portsmouth on Tuesday night.
Barnet Probable Lineup: J. Stephens, B. N’Gala, M. Nelson, E. Johnson, J. Pearson, C. Hackett, S. Togwell, C. Weston, A. Yiadom, L. Gambin, J. Akinde
Portsmouth salvaged a late point against Yeovil Town over the weekend despite being reduced to ten men and the result meant that Pompey were able to hold onto their place in one of the promotion positions in the table.
Such is the level of competition in League Two that Pompey could see themselves fall dramatically down the table with a single poor result and manager Paul Cook will now be urging his players to get back to winning ways when they travel to the Hive Stadium to square off against relegation battlers Barnet on Tuesday night.
Portsmouth Probable Lineup: R. Fulton, A. Webster, E. Stevens, Barton, G. Roberts, M. Doyle, B. Davies, B. Close, M. Smith, G. Evans, K. Bennett
Barnet are in a decent run of form at the moment but it has to be said that Portsmouth head into the clash on Tuesday as favourites.
Portsmouth have lost only once in their last seven away matches and it is very likely that Pompey will once again earn a positive result on their travels in midweek.
